SooJin and Sean’s Brix Yaletown Wedding Photos are among my favourite ever. This wedding was solid gold, and as a result, this blog post is enormous. I just can’t help myself, I loved their day so much.

So picture SJ, this gorgeous fashion major who has just come to Vancouver, after living for a time in New York (she had dreams of making it big in the NYC fashion industry and living the Sex and the City life). One night she’s out with her friends and they wind up at Cactus Club. By the end of the night she and her friends have totally bonded with their server, who ends up setting SJ up on a blind date with her boyfriends brother: Sean.

Fast forward to SJ getting ready for this blind date, where the guy has offered to pick her up, and when she answers her door she realizes how nice he is. Coming from New York, SJ was still used to guys who were pretty brash and overconfident, so it makes sense that her first thought was Oh this guy is going to be way too nice for me. 

Sean’s first thought was Oh wow, she is really short. 

Funny right?

So they go out on their date, laugh the whole time, and from that night on SJ was Sean’s, and he was hers.

In her words:

I feel so lucky that Sean picked me to spend the rest of his life with. His heart is my home and he makes me feel centered, loved, safe, and he continues to make me laugh all the time. And words cannot even do justice for how incredible of a father he is to our one year old boy. Our hearts truly are overflowing and we feel so lucky to have found each other within the maelstrom of life.

Six years later SJ and Sean have a gorgeous baby boy, they’ve been on countless adventures together, and they’re married! SJ laughs that maybe their first impressions were a bit off, except for the fact that she is super short. Although you’d never be able to tell because this girl rocks some tall ass shoes. Also, I think this is really cool: the server that set SJ up with Sean is now SJ’s sister in law! Great work team!

Which brings me to this blog post. I was HONOURED to be apart of this day, and it was incredible from start to finish. SJ had every detail nailed, she was efficient, decisive, kind, and she and Sean were a dream to photograph. The whole day was full of laughter, sarcasm, and love. Totally my kind of people.
