Amanda and Ian’s Whonnock Lake engagement photos are magic. Seriously… golden hour magic. It was like the perfect storm of amazing things. Gorgeous location? Check! Adventurous couple? Check! Golden hazy light? Check! They even brought tea and cozied up on a blanket!

Amanda and Ian are the type of couple that walk into their engagement session and instantly light it up. They’re playful, open to trying new things, and there is such a fluid ease to their interactions… from the moment you meet them it’s so clear how well matched they are for one another. Ian brings this calm and quiet presence, and you can tell he’s a good guy in a storm. Amanda is incredibly kind and outgoing, and her adventurous spirit and confidence are catching. They walked into their engagement session together… like literally went into it as a team, and were so open to the experience. They gave each other confidence and supported one another.

Connection, connection, connection. It’s my favourite part of being a photographer. Finding new ways to show it, to create it, to maintain it.

I can’t wait for Amanda and Ian’s wedding at Redwoods Golf Course. I can’t wait to meet the people that shaped who they are. Their parents, their siblings, their friends.  I can’t wait to see them exchange vows and party the night away with their loved ones. It’s going to be an unreal day.

Ps… I highly suggest checking out Whonnock Lake, whether it’s for your wedding, engagement photos, or just a relaxed stroll on a lazy Sunday. It’s so calming and even the drive out there is soothing.
