The excitement is real right now! I’ve been dying to share Lisa and Chris’s Whonnock Lake wedding photos. This day was SO good. Amazing (and gorgeous) people, an unreal location, a VERY well thought out timeline, and some rad weather. I mean give me overcast weather by a lake and you know I’m going to be a happy camper… and when the sun peeks out during sunset portraits? Pure joy.

I loved working with Lisa and Chris. They’re relaxed yet know what they want and are so fun to be around. Their friends are hilarious, and the whole group of them couldn’t take a bad photo if they tried. I mean honestly it’s absurd.

Lisa and Chris really are a dream team. I love seeing their adventures together (purchasing a home, raising two doggies, off roading on ATV’s together) and I love their dynamic. They’re both strong and fiercely protective of one another. Chris is kind and caring, Lisa is warm and gets right to the point (a trait which I ADORE). They truly balance one another out and it was amazing to witness their dedication to one another.

I was so honoured to be apart of this wedding..to be the one to document these vows. From the collective intake of breath as Lisa walked down the aisle, to the cake cutting where they literally STUFFED cake into each other’s faces, it was an unreal day. I loved every minute.

I also love the feel that Whonnock has, it makes you a little bit nostalgic for your days as a kid. Did you ever go to summer camp when you were young? The kind where you sleep in cabins, run along dirt paths to jump into the cool lake, and share meals together in a huge wooden building that looks out over the water? I went to a camp like this, and those summers hold some of my favourite memories.

Whonnock has a vibe similar to that, but with an elegant twist. It automatically makes you feel good and reminds you of happy childhood memories. Being in the woods and so near to the lake calms your soul, and as far as wedding locations go, this one is high up on my favourites list.
